We want you to be happy with what you buy from JMTechNI. This page explains your right to cancel, return goods and get a refund. It sits alongside our Terms & Conditions, and none of it affects your statutory rights.

1. Buying in person (collection)

Most of our sales are arranged in person or by collection. For in-person purchases there is no automatic "change of mind" cooling-off period — but your rights for faulty or misdescribed goods (section 4) always apply. If you would like to return an unwanted item bought in person, please get in touch and we will help where we can.

2. Buying online or by phone — your 14-day right to cancel

If you buy a product from us at a distance (for example online or over the phone), you have the right to cancel within 14 days without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

  • The 14 days run from the day you (or someone you nominate) receive the goods.
  • To cancel, just tell us clearly within that period using the contact details below — an email is fine.
  • After cancelling, return the goods to us within 14 days. You are responsible for the cost of returning them unless they are faulty or not as described.
  • We will refund you within 14 days of getting the goods back (or of you showing you have sent them). Refunds are made to your original payment method.
  • You may handle goods as you would in a shop to check them; if their value is reduced by handling beyond that, we may deduct an amount to reflect this.

3. Items that can't be cancelled in this way

The 14-day cancellation right does not apply to some items, including:

  • Custom or made-to-order builds — PCs and systems built or configured to your specification.
  • Sealed software or storage media once unsealed, where this affects health protection or hygiene or for technical reasons.
  • Goods that become mixed inseparably with other items after delivery.

Your rights for faulty or misdescribed goods (below) still apply to these items.

4. Faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods we supply must be of satisfactory quality, as described and fit for purpose. If they are not:

  • You have a 30-day right to reject faulty goods for a full refund.
  • After 30 days, you are entitled to a repair or replacement, and to a refund or price reduction if that is not successful.
  • If goods are faulty or not as described, we will also cover reasonable return costs.

5. Cancelling a repair or service

If you booked a repair or service at a distance, you also have a 14-day right to cancel. If you asked us to begin the work within that 14-day period and we did so with your agreement, you may need to pay for the work already carried out up to the point you cancel. Once a service is fully performed with your agreement, the right to cancel no longer applies.

6. How to start a return, refund or cancellation
